This morning, I woke up to the most jaw-dropping double rainbow I’ve ever seen. I was meditating to Haim’s “Hallelujah” (seriously, go listen), I couldn’t help but think about the heartbreak, chaos, and nervous system burnout that’s been overwhelming us lately. Life has this brutal way of ripping us apart—loss, devastation, lack of understanding, even our faith in the world that has forced us to confront everything we thought we knew. This past month, this never-ending January, has been nothing short of relentless. Yet there she was. So bright. So close to me, it felt like she was coming out of my hand. The hope. The light after the storm.
So, what if the breaking isn’t the end? What if it’s the beginning of something we can’t yet see? What if pain isn’t just damage—it’s the spark that forces us to grow, to evolve, to wake up? I don’t have all the answers, but I do know this, the cracks let the light in. Growth comes from discomfort. And even when everything feels like it’s falling apart, there’s a bigger story unfolding—one filled with hope, resilience, and transformation.
Crises don’t just test us—it breaks us wide open, exposing who we really are and what truly matters. It’s in those raw, gut-wrenching moments that pain stops being just pain and becomes something more. A catalyst. It forces us to shed the things we’ve outgrown, confront our deepest truths, and rise from the wreckage sharper, stronger, and more unapologetically ourselves. The scars it leaves. They carry wisdom. The wisdom to trust our gut when everything feels uncertain. To claim our worth when the world tries to chip away at it. To draw boundaries, walk away, and lead with both strength and heart. Crises don’t destroy us—it forces us to evolve, to rise stronger, and to step into a version of ourselves we never knew existed.
Hard times hit differently—they strip away the bullshit and force us to face what really matters ~ who we are, what we stand for, the people who show up for us and who we show up for. Pain doesn’t just leave scars—it leaves lessons. For me, those lessons come with a deep sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the strength I’ve built, the instincts I’ve learned to trust, and the people who had my back when I couldn’t do it alone. It’s taught me to know my worth, walk away from what doesn’t serve me, and lean into what fuels me.
But here’s the thing—rising isn’t just a singular process. It’s about how we take care of others. It’s about showing up, holding space when they’re down, reminding them of their power, or lending them some of our own. Life will knock you on your ass, no doubt. But it’s how we handle the trauma and the pain. Do we grow, build real strength? Of course we do. Because we set ourselves up.
Reframing Pain ~ A Tool for Transformation
Pain is a teacher that doesn’t let us stay comfortable. It asks us to move, to evolve, to expand. Stagnancy doesn’t work. When we stop seeing our suffering as something to avoid or escape and instead accept it as an essential part of our transformation, we begin to understand its purpose.
We take the lessons from our wounds—whether it’s the resilience we gained from a loss, the empathy we cultivated from heartbreak, compassion we gave to others, or the strength we uncovered during moments of deep struggle—and let them fuel us. Instead of clinging to what we’ve lost, we learn to see what we’ve gained. Inner strength, greater clarity, and an unwavering belief that we can handle whatever life throws at us next.
Wisdom That Only Pain Can Bring
Sometimes, it’s the most painful moments that teach us the most profound truths about ourselves and the world around us. You learn, for example, that your worth isn’t tied to your achievements or the approval of others. That you can survive things you never thought you could and emerge from them not only intact but thriving.
Pain teaches you that healing isn’t linear. You will have setbacks, moments where the weight of your past feels heavy, but the very act of surviving and continuing to move forward will be what makes you stronger.
And as you continue to heal and grow, you’ll realize that your scars, far from being marks of weakness, are the symbols of your strength. Each scar represents a battle you fought and won, a lesson learned, a piece of wisdom that only came from enduring what seemed impossible at the time.
The Power of Breaking Open
When life breaks us open, it forces us to re-evaluate everything. Our comfort zones, our patterns, and even our identity. It’s in these moments of raw vulnerability that we begin to unearth who we truly are. This process is never easy—it’s messy, it’s emotional, and at times, it feels like a dismantling of everything we thought we understood. But through the rubble, we begin to rebuild.
Imagine your life changing in an instant. Everything you’d relied on feels shattered, and you’re left standing in the wreckage. That’s the breaking open.
At first, it’s overwhelming. You’re navigating fear, uncertainty, and self-doubt. It feels like the ground has disappeared beneath you, and you’re questioning your decisions, your abilities, and even your identity. But in the quiet moments, something shifts. The crisis forces you to refocus, to step up with everything you have, and turn fear into action.
Through the chaos, you begin to see things differently—not by trying to piece back together the life you had, but by daring to imagine something different. Something better. You stop clinging to what’s comfortable and start making deliberate choices that align with who you want to become. Maybe it’s taking a chance on the path you’ve been avoiding out of fear, or finally walking away from the patterns and routines that have kept you stuck. The discomfort clears out the distractions, forcing you to confront your strength, trust your instincts, and step into the version of yourself you’ve always had the potential to be.
It’s not easy, and it’s never perfect, but breaking open allows you to rebuild stronger, with clarity and purpose. It transforms crisis into growth, making you more grounded, self-aware, and ready to step into the life you were always capable of creating. Yes, you can.
You are a force that no obstacle can diminish, a living proof of what it means to transform struggle into strength. Every challenge you’ve faced, every setback that tried to hold you down, and every storm that threatened to break you has only sharpened your edge and fortified your spirit. You are not here by chance, you are here because you’ve fought, grown, and refused to settle for anything less than extraordinary.
Own the light within you—the one that refuses to flicker, no matter how dark the night or how heavy the burden. That light is your power, your truth, and your reminder that nothing can extinguish your fire. You are the embodiment of resilience, courage, and beautiful energy. I’m always psyched to see you shine.
With love, light and healing,
Teri~
